Meet Dr. Loc

Dr. Casey Locarnini (“Dr. Loc”) has over 30 years of clinical experience as a physician.  Casey graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1991, and after completing his internship at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, spent 4 years as a Naval Flight Surgeon based in Washington, D.C., supporting both Navy and Marine Corps aviation.  After moving back to San Diego, Casey completed his residency in Emergency Medicine, finishing his 10 year Navy career as head of Emergency Medicine at Naval Hospital, 29 Palms, California, home of Marine Corps Desert Warfare training.

Casey then transitioned to the world of civilian medicine, working the next four years in both Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine in the Atlanta Metro and Savannah/Fort Stewart areas. During his time in Emergency Medicine, Casey realized that he wasn’t able to give his patients the attention and quality of care he felt they deserved.

Casey was heavily influenced by the example of his father, a beloved small-town doctor in rural California, who taught Casey that spending time with his patients, being attentive, and really listening are essential to being a great physician.  In 2005, Casey decided that to practice medicine properly, he would open Dunwoody Urgent Care, the first walk-in urgent care clinic in the perimeter area.  He has spent the last 17 years dedicating himself, full time, to the health and well-being of the Dunwoody area residents and visitors.

Because of changes to the field of Medicine, and to have the opportunity to devote even more time and attention to the care of his patients, Dr. Loc is now making the transition to full-time primary care at Dunwoody Direct Primary Care.

Casey lives in Dunwoody with his lovely wife of nearly 30 years, Roxanne.  They are proud parents to 3 grown children (Talia, Anna and Aidan) and their dog, Jackson.  Casey loves to spend time with his (large) family and friends, play guitar, listen to music, read, travel, and enjoy outdoor activities.
